Mixing
From rough stems to a mix that holds on headphones and speakers: Sophie Bakker and the Sipopojexadvisory team mix in Amsterdam-Oost with genre, loudness targets and your references in mind.

Mixing is arranging sound in time and space: each stem earns frequency room, pan position and depth so vocal and groove stay readable. We work hybrid — outboard where it helps, recall in the DAW — so up to 2 revision rounds stay practical without starting from zero.
Supply stems from our vocal recording sessions or from your home setup. Send WAV or AIFF, organised per song; planning your mix budget explains how track count and complexity tie to time and cost.
How it works
Quote
Send a track list, references and a rough mix if you have one via email. Within 2 business days you get a proposal at per-track, hourly or EP rate.
Import
We check sync, naming and headroom. Missing stems or clipped files get fixed before balance work starts.
Mix pass
Balance, EQ, compression, effects and automation. Interim bounces when agreed; optional in-studio time at €115 if you want to listen live.
Revisions
Up to 2 rounds from your notes. Further work bills hourly. Final stereo WAV; stems for mastering by arrangement.
When studio mixing helps
Home mixes often break on translation: bass on laptops, vocals that vanish, drums that turn muddy. In our control room you hear what streaming and download do with your choices. Artists with a clear vision but little time, labels wanting one contact, and bands seeking consistency after vocal recording or live takes — that is where this service fits.
Mixing is not mastering: we deliver a mix with healthy headroom for mastering. Need stems only for an external mastering engineer? Say so at export.
What to deliver
Per song: all stems as 24-bit WAV, same sample rate, same start point. Avoid mp3 unless it is the only source — then we discuss limits. Name tracks clearly: DRUMS_Kick, VOX_Lead, and so on. Add tempo, key and a rough mix if available.
EP packages cover up to six tracks at €920; bonus tracks or alt versions sit outside the bundle and are quoted separately. Rights and archiving: session files and rights.
Process and tone
We start static: levels and panning before heavy compression. Then EQ and dynamics per group, reverbs and delays on sends, automation on vocals and drops. Reference tracks set direction for brightness and punch — not cloning.
Sophie Bakker handles much pop, indie and podcast-adjacent music; Maarten van Dijk joins on denser band material. You always know who leads before we begin.
Attending in person
Remote mixing with email or cloud updates is default. To watch faders move, book time at €115 incl. VAT. Up to 8 headphones in the room; come alone or with one trusted ear so notes stay focused.
Hours Mon–Fri 10–19, Sat 11–17; address Ruyschstraat 14, 1091 BR Amsterdam. From Wibautstraat metro station (M51, M53, M54) it is about an 8-minute walk via Wibautstraat and Linnaeusstraat. Trams 3 and 7 stop at Ruyschstraat, roughly 2 minutes on foot. The entrance is at street level next to the bicycle racks.
Turnaround and revisions
A single often takes five to ten business days after complete delivery, depending on queue and complexity. EPs run in parallel when possible; the quote includes a realistic calendar. Use 2 rounds with bundled feedback — timestamps or bar numbers help.
Extra rounds or stem swaps after approval bill per hour or track under terms and conditions. A 30% deposit starts scheduling.

FAQ
How many stems can my session have?
No fixed cap, but beyond thirty stems adds time. Send a list upfront; we advise per-track versus hourly pricing.
Do you mix Dolby Atmos?
Standard delivery is stereo for streaming and download. Surround is case-by-case via contact.
Can I get the DAW session back?
You receive the stereo WAV. Full sessions are shared by arrangement; some third-party plugins limit transfer — we flag that early.
My rough mix already sounds fine
Then we focus on translation, detail and consistency across songs. You still pay the track rate, but clear notes shorten revision time.
Does mastering follow?
Yes. After mix approval book mastering; Jeroen Visser often coordinates loudness and sequencing.
