Session files, archive and rights in brief
After a session you need to know where your WAVs live, how long we keep them and who may publish what. This guide summarises how Sipopojexadvisory B.V. handles Vocal recording and other services in Amsterdam — legal detail is in terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Two layers: recording and composition
In the Netherlands, copyright in a song usually stays with the writers of music and lyrics, regardless of who pays for studio time. The recording (the fixation) has its own rights layer: the producer of the recording often controls what may happen to that specific sound file. In practice you and we agree what you may do with delivered files — streaming, video, advertising — before you release.
If you record a cover, you arrange licences through the usual Dutch collective routes yourself; we deliver the technical recording, not rights in someone else’s work. When commercial use is unclear, state it in your booking via contact.
What you receive by default
After the session you get agreed exports: dry vocal stems, podcast WAV per speaker or a mixdown without mastering, for example. Raw session files with every take are shared only if booked upfront and within storage limits; otherwise we deliver a curated set of approved takes.
We agree file formats before the session (sample rate, bit depth, MP3 for review). Large data goes via secure link or physical drive; bring your own SSD if you prefer. Delivery questions: [email protected] or 020 244 1893.
Archive at Sipopojexadvisory
We keep session projects internally for 12 months after completion unless agreed otherwise. That gives time for a remix or extra export without re-recording everything. After that we delete project files per retention in privacy policy — keep your own backup within that window.
Longer archive or cold storage is available for a fee; ask for long podcast series or label projects. With 24 input channels and several rooms, projects can be large — storage is not unlimited by default.
Performers and guests
Singers, rappers, voice artists and podcast guests have neighbouring rights in their performance. Commercial exploitation needs their consent, usually via a simple release or production contract clause. For commercial sessions we ask who the responsible client is so releases match.
Minors: minimum booking age without parent or guardian is 16; younger talent only with a present parent or guardian and appropriate forms.
Privacy and personal data
We process contact details, billing and session notes to deliver bookings — see privacy policy for legal basis, retention and rights (access, correction, erasure). Audio with recognisable voices can be personal data; publish only what you may lawfully share.
Business clients sending personal data (e.g. internal podcasts) can request a data processing agreement. Site cookies and tracking are in cookie policy; session audio is not covered there, but your upload via contact is.
Payment, revisions and disputes
Billing follows terms and conditions: 30% deposit, balance before or after delivery depending on project. Mix and podcast work with revisions: 2 feedback rounds included, then hourly or project rates.
B2B payment term 14 days after invoice when approved. Quality concerns: report within a reasonable time with concrete examples (timecode, platform, device). General studio information: disclaimer.
Working with other services
Mix and mastering at Sipopojexadvisory reuse the same project name and stem metadata where possible so credits stay consistent. Podcast episodes with music intros require you to have cleared sync and master rights for that music.
Pair this guide with podcast mic and room setup or planning your mix budget for a full path. For vocal prep: vocal warm-up before recording.
Practical checklist
- Upfront: define use (release, ad, internal) and file formats.
- After session: own backup within 12 months; request exports on time.
- Performers: releases before commercial publication.
- Privacy: share only audio you may lawfully use.
- Legal frame: terms, privacy, legal notice.
