Podcast recording

Conversations sound professional when every voice has its own channel, levels stay stable, and an engineer listens with you. At Sipopojexadvisory in Amsterdam you record at a table with pop filters and headphone monitoring.

Two podcast hosts at a table with microphones in the studio.

Our Podcast recording service suits hosts who want interviews, panels, or co-hosted shows without fighting room echo or laptop fans at home. The space is treated, mics are fixed, and Sophie Bakker or another engineer watches headroom and bleed while you focus on content.

Basic editing is included: tidy starts and ends, level balance, no heavy sound design or music production unless you book mixing separately. Unsure which mic layout fits your format? Read podcast mic and room setup and reach us via contact.

How it works

  1. Brief

You share format, headcount, target length, and whether you plan a series. We hold time and an engineer and confirm pricing in writing within 2 business days.

  2. Rig

Mics and headphones per seat, soundcheck at conversational level, and a short test recording so everyone trusts what they hear.

  3. Record

The conversation runs in one or more takes; the engineer marks restarts and leaves headroom for laughter without clipping.

  4. Deliver

After basic editing you receive files by download link; raw multitracks stay archived for 12 months as set out in our terms and conditions.

Who this is for

Freelance interviewers, internal comms teams, research podcasts, boardroom series, or creators moving off video calls to a consistent sound: if two to four people sit in the room, the table setup fits. Solo with a remote guest works too, but we allow extra time for double-ender instructions.

You do not need audio experience. An outline with chapters, intro length, and whether you stream live helps. Minimum studio age is 16; younger guests only with prior agreement via contact.

How a session runs

At Ruyschstraat 14 in Amsterdam-Oost you arrive during Mon–Fri 10–19, Sat 11–17. After phones are silenced, you sit at the table. Each seat has a dynamic broadcast mic on a shock mount; laptops stay off the capsules. The engineer works in the adjoining control room with sight lines to the table.

Breaks are fine; the clock covers studio and engineer, not long lunches. A talk up to ninety minutes usually fits the per-episode rate when briefing and soundcheck stay tight. Longer panels need a upfront plan so you do not run out of time mid-conversation.

What to bring

  • Question list or segment structure, plus show notes if you already use them.
  • Water in quiet cups; skip clinking ice next to mics.
  • Jingles or music beds as separate WAV files if you want them in the show; mixing is via mixing.
  • Cover art only for your host, not required in the room.

For home prep, see our mic and room guide: distance and overlap rules save edit time later.

Delivery and file formats

Default delivery is WAV 48 kHz, 24 bit per voice, plus a stereo mixdown for quick review. MP3 for hosting on request; tell us your platform targets. Files go by secure link to the email on your booking.

Raw session tracks stay on our systems for 12 months, then delete unless you extend storage. Ownership rules are in session files and rights. Business clients invoice with 14 days payment terms after agreement.

Editing and revision rounds

Basic editing means trimming silence at top and tail, clean fades, one pass of level balance, and light noise reduction where needed. No stylised EQ or music beds. Want a cough cut or a re-recorded line? That fits within 2 revision rounds per episode if you send time-coded notes within two weeks of delivery.

Extra passes, narrative restructuring, or multilingual cuts bill at the podcast hourly rate. Heavy repair of poor remote audio is outside basic editing; we will say plainly what is realistic.

Getting here and scheduling

From Wibautstraat metro station (M51, M53, M54) it is about an 8-minute walk via Wibautstraat and Linnaeusstraat. Trams 3 and 7 stop at Ruyschstraat, roughly 2 minutes on foot. The entrance is at street level next to the bicycle racks. Opening hours: Monday–Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 11:00–17:00, Sunday closed.. Urgent questions: 020 244 1893 or email.

Do not stack podcast recording on the same day as a full band in the rehearsal room unless we schedule that explicitly — the live room and table studio share the building but not the same crew at once.

FAQ

How many people fit at the table?

Four seated places with dedicated mic and headphones. A fifth person can listen in the control room on request without a separate track. Larger panels are not booked in this room.

Can I leave with raw files the same day?

Yes — bring your SSD or use our upload after the session. Edited versions follow within the agreed window, usually a few business days unless noted on your booking.

What if a guest is ill?

Tell us as soon as you can. More than 5 days ahead we move the date at no charge; closer dates follow the deposit rules in terms and conditions. Remote fill-ins sometimes work via double-ender, quality varies.

Is music under the dialogue included?

No. You supply licensed or original music; mixing is a separate mixing job. We do not lay beds under speech without proof of rights.
